ABSTRACT

Crisis is part of human society which exist through the interaction of man another with another that must be managed otherwise there will be problems on this fact that the research focuses on the role of mass media in conflict resolution: with a careful look at Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State coverage of NURTW crisis in Oyo state and how they bring the situation under control. The researcher used survey research method with the use of a questionnaire in gathering the needed information. From the findings, it is revealed that BCOS played a crucial role during NURTW crisis in Oyo State as it brought to the public some of the causes, personality involved in the crisis, stage of the crisis and causality numbers and other issues related to the issue and suggesting solutions. Journalists from BCOS were sampled and 100 copies of the questionnaire were administered to 100 respondents within the station using particular 100 respondents from the news and current affairs.
