Additionally, respondents expressed a consensus on the accessibility and adequacy of scientific evidence supporting the efficacy of medicinal plants. However, varied opinions emerged concerning the safety protocols associated with the utilization of medicinal plants. In conclusion, the study contributes valuable insights into the historical context, quality control, and scientific validation of medicinal plants. The results provide a foundation for understanding the perceptions and practices related to medicinal plant use. Recommendations stemming from the study emphasize the need for standardized quality control measures and increased scientific scrutiny in the production and utilization of medicinal plants. Despite the limitations of the research, such as potential response bias and limited generalizability, the findings pave the way for further exploration and refinement of strategies to enhance the reliability and safety of medicinal plant products in contemporary healthcare.

1.2       Statement of Problem

The use of medicinal plants in contemporary healthcare has witnessed a surge in popularity, driven by the global interest in natural remedies. However, this burgeoning reliance on herbal medicine has given rise to a critical problem that threatens the well-being of individuals and the credibility of the medicinal plant industry. The overarching issue revolves around the glaring lack of stringent quality control measures and robust scientific evidence regarding the efficacy and safety of medicinal plants.

The problem at hand is multifaceted, encompassing challenges related to the consistency, reliability, and safety of herbal products.
